As we begin this 21st century there is urgent need for the human family to choose attitudes and values that will ensure world peace and progress. A way for diverse peoples to live decently and harmoniously together in an interdependent world must be found and found soon. Goodwill is the key to such a way. When mobilized, focused and expressed, goodwill is a dynamic energy. It is the active principle of peace. It can be used in all situations to overcome social and economic injustice and cleavages of race, nation and religion. There are today millions of servers who are using the energy of goodwill in a concentrated and committed way. There are millions more in whom goodwill is an undeveloped potential, ready to be stimulated and evoked.

Those from all countries who are expressing goodwill with creativity and purpose in their lives form a group, called by some the "new group of world servers". This group of world servers includes all who are motivated by love of humanity; share an inclusive attitude of mind; desire to create a world in which peoples and nations can live together in peace and unity; and are inspired by a vision of a Plan of light and love for the whole human race. The group is today actively working to create a world of peace and progress by applying goodwill in all relationships. At neighborhood, national and global levels, they are helping to create new and better structures and attitudes in every field of human life, including education, politics, economics, science, religion and the arts. Though they are not linked through any physical organization, group members feel a sense of spiritual unity with all who are working to meet the needs and resolve the problems of human beings everywhere.

As the consciousness of humanity expands, new spiritual energies become available for use in service. This group serves others without distinction of race, class or creed. All recognition of this group provides a special opportunity to radiate the lighted power of love and goodwill through the network of the new group of world servers into the minds and hearts of the whole human race. To make use of this important opportunity we ask for your cooperation in sounding out a strong and clear note of goodwill towards all through publicising a "Formula for World Peace and Progress".

Its main value will lie in its simultaneous appearance all over the world as an impact on human consciousness.The affirmation can be adapted or changed to meet any circumstances. It is available as a separate sheet or it can be enlarged and photocopied. It can be displayed and publicized in many ways-in newspapers and your favourite magazines, as an advertisement or incorporated in a letter to the editor; over radio and television; in places of worship; in schools; by public display in shops, offices and organizations; on the door or windows of private houses; enclosed with greeting cards, and so on.

Millions of men and women of goodwill, from all parts of the world, are subjectively linked by the quality of their thoughts and actions. This growing group has been called the "new group of world servers". It is not a new organisation but rather a subjective banding together of all who are actively trying to express in their lives the spirit of love, sharing and co-operation.

The goal of the group is the emergence of a world community of nations which has discarded its antagonisms and antipathies, its hatred due to ethnic or religious differences. Group members think and act in terms of one life and the one humanity.

Those who constitute the subjectively related members of the new group of world servers adhere to three clear and practical truths:

I .That the errors and mistakes of past centuries' producing periodic outbursts of violence and destructive war, are the joint errors and mistakes of humanity as a whole. This recognition will lead to the establishing of the principle of sharing, so needed in the world today.

2.That there are no problems and conditions which cannot be solved by the will-to-good. Goodwill nourishes the spirit of understanding and fosters the manifestation of the principle of co-operation. This co-operative spirit is the secret of all right human relations and the antithesis of competition.

3.That there is a blood relationship between all members of the human family which, when recognised, dissolves all barriers and ends the spirit of separativeness and hate. The peace and happiness of each is the concern of all. This develops the principle of responsibility and lays the foundation of right corporate action.

These basic truths provide an incentive to service and action. They are practical, scientific and are subversive of no government or religious attitude. They are innately a part of the spiritual consciousness of all. Their acceptance will heal international wounds and the cleavages between peoples.

Men and women of goodwill in their millions, convinced:

-that there is potential for good in every human being

-that the human family can live together in right relations and at peace

--that right relationship between peoples and between humanity and the earth is the key to unity and world peace

-that practical goodwill is the active principle of peace, justice and progress for all humanity;

-to practice goodwill in all our relationships, in all daily affairs and in attitudes and actions towards those of other nations, ethnic groups, religions and social backgrounds, and towards the earth

-to support and co-operate with those in positions of influence and responsibility who use goodwill and reason, instead of force and coercion

-to encourage, publicise and work for the adoption of goodwill in action by local, national and international groups and institutions.

Enough men and women of goodwill accepting responsibility for the establishing of right human relationships among people and between nations, and working actively with the principles of unity and goodwill, guarantee a future of peace and progress for the whole human race.
